Think carefully & do the right thing for your staff!

Welcome to our next edition of DNA News. A lot has happened since our last newsletter and yet there is still so much more to do as leaders. This is not only thanks to what COVID-19 has brought about for so many of us, but because out of every crisis there is always opportunity. There is a Chinese proverb that says: “The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second-best time is now!”

The future is about building and growing; we have to pick up the pieces, reflect, revise and renew our efforts and now is the time to do that. Businesses and their staff have faced incredible hardships and challenges over the past 80 days and each and every one of us needs to look at new ways of doing things. As a leader there should be two critical human capital questions being asked at this point:

  1. Is my business correctly resourced for the future; can we re-organise, rationalise or gear up for new opportunities?
  2. Do leaders and staff have the skills and competencies needed to cope and lead in the future and if not, what do we need to do?

The two articles below will hopefully give our readers a few thoughts to consider that will challenge the status quo and also encourage some critical thinking.
